Modern Tico river boat. The boat will take you via the Sarapiqui River to the Refugio National of Barra del Colorado. The tour passes through beautiful Southern Nicaragua. (You will need your passport and US-$ 5,- for the visa. Don't worry, border guards here are both friendly and courteous.) The boat continues down the Rio San Juan, to the Rio Colorado and then to your final destination on the Samay Lagoon.
Samay Lagoon Lodge is equipped with 22 comfortable single and double rooms complete with ceiling fans, private baths, efficient and personalized service. There are experienced local guides for both nature tours and boat excursions. The lodge is well equipped with fiberglass built boats as well as canoes for two, three and four people.
