Bosque del Cabo is located approximately 300 miles from San Jose, at the very tip of the Osa Peninsula. The Osa is Costa Rica's southernmost peninsula on the Pacific Ocean side. The largest town on the Osa Peninsula is Puerto Jimenez (population approximately 3500); across the gulf from Jimenez is the port town of Golfito. Bosque del Cabo lies 22 kilometers south of Puerto Jimenez (about a 45 minute 4-wheel drive ride). The lodge sits atop Cabo Matapalo, on the road halfway between Puerto Jimenez and Corcovado National Park. Bosque del Cabo offers 9 private bungalows, and a gorgeous 2-bedroom home. All of the bungalows are tastefully arranged along the bluff of Cabo Matapalo. Bosque del Cabo offers 5 deluxe bungalows. 2 of the bungalows are tropical hardwood and thatched-roof construction, and three deluxe stucco and tile construction bungalows. All deluxe bungalows feature king-sized beds, larger bathrooms with dressing area, expanded outdoor garden showers, hammocks and easy chairs for lounging, and wraparound porches. All of our deluxe bungalows have solar powered electric lighting.
four standard bungalows are constructed of tropical hardwoods with thatched-roofs. They offer 2 double beds, writing table and chair, indoor bathroom, tiled outdoor garden shower, hammock and easy chairs, and double folding doors which open up to an amazing view of the stunning blue Pacific. Bosque del Cabo is known for having consistently delicious and plentiful meals. The food is all prepared under the supervision of owner Phil Spier. All the meals are made from scratch, and prepared with fresh, local ingredients with cooking style consisting of a mixture of American, Costa Rican, and international cuisines. Bosque del Cabo also have a pool side bar which opens in the afternoon and serves fresh lemonade, iced tea, smoothies, beer, wine and sodas, as well as Piña Coladas, Margaritas, and well drinks.
Rainforest trails are steps away from your porch. Pristine shores and access to a great variety of habitats and activities are nearby, including the wild Pacific coast with tide pools, caves and waterfalls, calm sandy gulf beaches, surfing, kayaking, deep sea fishing, sailboat trips, hiking, horseback riding, etc. |
