This region extends from the Barú River to the Panamanian border, and from the Talamanca mountain range to the Pacific coast and it is considered one the most biologically diverse regions of the country, the south Pacific includes the Corcovado National Park, the Drake Bay with its wonderful and secluded beaches and eco-lodges, and the highlands of the Chirripo Peak, the highest mountain in Costa Rica.
