"Costa Rica's Yellowstone" is Rincon de le Vieja National Park where there are small geysers, bubbling mudpots and mineral hot springs. For those wishing to view wildlife from the top of the forest canopy, and/or those seeking thrills, there is repelling by zip-line from one treetop platform to another while wearing a climbing harness. From this vantage point one can often see howler monkeys, sloths, toucans and many other birds, (Costa Rica is home to more than 800 species of bird). Other nearby parks include Guanacaste and Santa Rosa National Parks which together make up the largest protected area of rare tropical dry forest left in the world. These parks are home to jaguars, tapirs, anteaters and crocodiles. Some areas are open only to scientists, but areas open to the public include "La Casona" ranch house and ecological museum, as well as Naranjo Beach off which there is excellent surfing. BeachesTamarindo BeachWithout being overdeveloped, Tamarindo offers multiple attractions. Its people, the little nearby fishing communities and its neighbored beaches make Tamarindo a must-visit location. At Tamarindo, you will find hotels, and restaurants that suit any budget and preference. You can experience nature at its best at the Tamarindo Estuary Wildlife Preserve, where you will experience an unspoiled primary mangrove eco-system, and its wildlife including tropical birds, monkeys, cayman and crocodiles. Tamarindo is centrally located and so you can visit the other neighbor beaches within minutes. For exemplo, Playa Grande is the nesting area of the giant leather back turtle (nesting season November to April), and Flamingo, a white sand beach, located minutes away from. Cocos BeachPlayas del Coco, a beach community on the North Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, has long been a favorite national vacation spot. While Coco still maintains the character of a Latin fishing village, the area surrounding it is becoming a popular resort destination for international travelers, and a growing number of expatriate families call it home. The abundance of fish off the "Rich Coast" provides many locals with a livelihood, a fact which Sport Fishermen take careful note of. Tuna, Marlin, and Pacific Sailfish averaging more than 50 kg are common in the waters off Coco. Likewise, the scuba diving is exceptional. Schools of fish numbering in the thousands, many species of Ray, Sea Turtle and colorful Angelfish are seen here, as well as the occasional Whale Shark (plankton feeding). Playas del Coco is only 30 km from the International Airport in Liberia. Flamingo BeachAt Dinner time, you can enjoy the beautiful music of The Marimba, a large, wooden idiophone. An indescribable experience while having dinner. This is one of our favorites. Just relax at the beach and experience the magic sound of the waves. At Cocos beach and nearby beaches, you can participated in a number of activities. Sport fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, sailing, surfing and kayaking, horseback riding, bicycling, hiking, shopping and tours are among the many activities that you can enjoy
